Hebrews 10:23-25 (NIV) 23 Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for He who promised is faithful. 24 And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, 25 not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another —and all the more as you see the Day approaching.

"PULL!" Away flies a clay disk floating from left to right. You have but mere seconds to peer down your long barrel to focus and pull the trigger! Did you notice a bit of “swerving” around that target? Wouldn’t it be great if we had a better way of steadying our guns as the targets go by?

Sometimes it’s like this when we try to stay focused on Jesus…we tend to “swerve” around a little. Hopefully our faith keeps us on track but what happens when our swerving gets us completely out of control? The author tells us in Hebrews to”spur one another on…meet together…and encourage one another”.

This will steady our “swerving” by means of increasing our accountability and feeling support of loved ones and listening to their guidance through the Holy Spirit and Prayer.

With our shotguns, pulling it into our shoulder firmly steadies our focus. In our faith walk with Jesus Christ, we need to surround ourselves with the love and encouragement of our Church family and fellow Christians keeps us steadfast. We also need to be available to be that steadying force when others need us.

If your “swerving “ ever feels OUT of CONTROL please consider Paul’s advice and continue to meet and surround yourself with a loving Church Family.

Prayer:  Lord, sometimes we swerve too much and get ourselves lost, please help us to have the courage to not isolate ourselves in solitude, but to seek others that are Your servants.  In Jesus name we pray, Amen.

Proverbs 27:17, "Iron sharpeneth iron; so a man sharpeneth the countenance of his friend."
